Amazing New MD Friends

img_8272

When my college friend and batchmate Cherry Agor- Rumbaoa invited me to have dinner in her house in White Marsh, I had the chance to meet her husband Ryan and their twins, Coby and Riley who were such adorable kids.  I also met their friend Drexler who is also working as a nurse in the university hospital.

Ryan told me he likes giving books to his friends. He promised to send me one. I received the book, “The Automatic Millionare by David Bach,”  in the mail today and was so excited to read it.

Thanks to Cherry and Ryan..to Drexler as well. Happy Holidays!

Spelling and Grammar Check

Kids and adults these days don’t pay much attention to spelling and grammar anymore. Why can’t a college graduate master a simple subject-verb agreement or a word spelling perhaps? If a 70 year old woman can spell a word or two correctly, why can’t an educated woman do the same?

I mean I am not a know-it-all person, but it doesn’t hurt to do things right. It gives you that sense of accomplishment. If you can log in to your Facebook account more than a hundred times a day, why can’t you Google a word to check if you have spelled it correctly? If this post will offend you girl, sorry. I’m just telling the truth.

Random Thoughts to Ponder

Ideas are fantabulous things. No business gets started, no bestseller book gets written, and no adventures get off the ground without them. The problem is great ideas are bigger and wider than we give them credit for. They have a shelf life. So how do you finish what you’ve started? Give yourself an IMMEDIATE DEADLINE.

A List of My Favorite Gurus

For me, they are extraordinary people who made their marks in my life. I was a mediocre person except for some bouts of intelligence exhibited normally during my growing years. God sent out angels in the form of teachers who interfered with my life as if I was a lost sheep. I carry a lasting impression of these great human beings who instilled in me the love for knowledge. Because of them, I am able to survive this bewildered world and make ends meet. And now I make public my undying gratitude for these awesome individuals.

The BS English Test

If there’ s one thing I’m praying for now, that would be not to retake the English exam i took yesterday. I am not willing to sit down on a speaking test again with an examiner who doesn’t know what eye contact and good conversation mean. The need to stay seated for 3 hours straight to listen to people who speak like Harry Potter, to work my brains out trying to write as many words as I can and reading 3 confusing passages is not at all funny. It’s boring.

The 2 cups of brewed coffee and 3 pieces of bacon pancakes that Hubby and I ate for breakfast in the hotel was worth $25 dollars! That MADE my day. Geez, don’t make me go back in there. I’m going to scream.

Not Ready To Get Rich

Ross’ internet marketing business is already kicking off. He often jokes about how we’ll be able to spend loads of money in a day. I told him I’m not ready to get rich yet.

Well of course I was joking too. Truth is, I don’t want to get rich. When people become wealthy, they become mean. And they die young. I want to live forever, enclosed in my simple dreams. If there’s something tangible that I really want, it would be a small house in Tagaytay and a family car. That’s it. Beyond that, I just want to be happy with Ross and our kids.
